Shit I can't read this without tearing up. In Penfield, NY, Tyler J. Doohan helped get 6 people out of a burning trailer before he died trying to rescue a disabled relative. He was 8. I'm just gonna sit at my desk and cry a little while you guys read the stories here and here.
An 8-year-old western New York boy is being hailed as a hero after he lost his life early Monday morning trying to rescue a disabled family member. Two others perished in the fire as well.
The fire broke out in a house trailer at about 4:45 a.m. Monday in Penfield, NY, a suburb of Rochester, NY.
Investigators said Tyler J. Doohan, 8, was one of three people who died in the fire. Investigators said Tyler woke up six people — including two other children, ages 4 and 6 — who all escaped the burning single-wide trailer.
Tyler was attempting to rescue a disabled relative and did not make it out of the burning home.
