It served the USAF for many years and went on to serve the Japanese JASDF. It was retired in 1961 and maintained in good condition on display for many more years on the base museum at Hamamatsu. Over the following decades, the T-6 has become a coveted vintage aircraft, with many examples lovingly restored and flown around the world.
