As I was playing with looking at my son’s 3.0 CSL, I noticed these holes in the trunk lid. Hot Wheels will often add odd bits to the clear plastic piece for structural stability, but this struck me as more cosmetic and not very structural at all.

Through some Google searching, I did in fact find the same holes on one 3.0 CSL featured at the 2015 NYIAS. Also another pic of an Autoart diecast with the same holes. And Autoart doesn’t mess around.

Additional searching has left me fruitless as to the purpose of these holes. Weight reduction? Some sort of suspension components? Gangsta subwoofers so the entire hood can hear your bass?
