These are the headlights on the 2016 Volvo XC90. As you may have noticed, they are elegant, clean, and restrained. And in one fell swoop, that h*ckin’ orange reflector ruins everything. Not only is it an obnoxious orange, it completely ruins the shape defined by the “Thor’s hammer” LEDs.
European regulations don’t require reflectors, so the colors are less jarring, but the natural shape of the light is still ruined.
Interestingly, the S90 incorporates them much better.
The only other cars I’ve noticed with this problem are Jaguar. The j-shaped LED strip looks like it should define the shape of the headlight, but those d*ng reflectors jump right in to ruin everyone’s day.
