My province is having one of the worst droughts in historic memory this year over the course of the summer (in some places, the worst in 130 YEARS)...we’ve had something like 20-30% of what our usual rainfall would be, and, in some cases, even less in areas like Shelburne and around Bridgewater/Mahone Bay/Lunenburg where I live - it’s ridiculous.

Our own well is very low (though not empty yet) and we’re just hoping it lasts us through the winter without going bone dry as we have no idea whether the little rain we’ve had will mean the underground spring that feeds our well will freeze up completely or not...(it doesn’t help that our furnace is the hot water type and needs to bring in water from the well to top up the system every so often). If the well goes dry, that means no heat, and potentially burst pipes...

A downside to lack of rain? Gravel roads like the one I live on = dusty cars...
