Oppo I am yet again looking for a new car to replace my CLK 280 manual and I really want an RX-8, because they are dirt cheap now in Europe(shitloads of 40-80k km for 5-8k Euro).

Sadly we all know that there are owners which don't know how to maintain the rotary porperly and this can lead to reliability issues.

So I was thinking is there some way to see, if the engine is good, buying from a dealer that don't know how the car was maintained except for service history? If you buy from a person is easy to see if he has the knowledge how to properly maintain the engine.

Is there something else I need to look at? I have experience buying used cars, but the RX-8 is in a way unique, so a little more info would be helpfull.
