Some more sheet metal work, making velocity stacks.
The original air cleaners don’t allow the car to rev to 6k, and of course, that will not do. The part I made is the manifold that bolts (and currently zip ties) directly onto the carburetor, with a small hoop that allows different lengths of stack to be attached with hose clamps.
First attempts with Coke cans went alright, but lacked filter material.
So... dress socks? Nope.
Short stacks seem to work really nice, with some screen door material it works well enough for the car to rev and still keep out dirt and rocks. It’s really rev happy now! Once I get the bell mouths made somehow I think it will work even better. Jalop enough for you?
