Welcome to my photo album of this weekend’s TUDOR United Sports Car Championship race at Watkins Glen International for the Sahlen’s 6 Hours of the Glen. I’m going to start off by saying this was my first proper sports car race, and I got to feel like I was 8 years old again (I probably acted that way too), even…
After 1 hr of the Sahlen’s 6hrs of the Glen, the DeltaWang is still running. I think this might be a record for this season.
Equal front and rear tracks are so last century. Go, little deltawing, go!
It's happening! The Deltawing was hauled up to 5th by Chaves, setting a time only ~half a second behind the pole-sitting Michael Shank Racing Honda HPD-Ligier JS P2. Unfortunately, the same gearbox problems were already acting up early on Thursday. Have some great pictures of qualifying (courtesy of James Lietz.)
I am excited for 2015. Old man Panoz kept the Deltawing around one year longer to race! They've got actual SPONSORS now! The team has also been hard at work on aero development. And the beauty receives a new livery. (Below) And last, but certainly not least....
The DeltaWing got to show its strength in the wet today on a rainy Circuit of the Americas. Forecast calls for rain throughout today and tomorrow. Might they pull off an upset in the new car? The DeltaWing set a 2:14.909 lap ahead of the 02 ESM HPD with a 2:16.573 while many other cars spent much or all of the session…
That nice mix of Batman/racing car is gone. I think they just screwed the looks of it. Lets hope performance wise its a step forward.
Like the DeltaWing? Impressed by its performance at Road America? Want to race in USCR next year? Well now you can pre-order one of three customer DeltaWing 'coupes' (not really a coupe because it has a single central seat)!
GT6 has a DeltaWing. That is all.
ALMS visited Laguna Seca last weekend, with the DeltaWing making its post-season return. They've done a lot of testing and development between, so did it pay off? Spoilers inside, you've been warned.
Neat— apparently the Deltawing will be at Laguna Seca this year to participate in the ALMS race. This just made me a million times more excited about going. Maybe it'll make up for the race being two hours shorter than the last couple years.
Well, maybe not from straight on, but that's a good side profile.
OH DEAR GOD NO.
Feel free to tell me that I'm crazy, but why doesn't an F1 team mount it's tires way inboard of where they currently are? So much of the front wing is devoted to getting air around the tires, so why not put just move the tires. A full DeltaWing approach will be impossible unless F1 re-opens the tire wars, but teams…
