I’ve only had blizzaks before and they were great, but I feel like I killed them fast. I’d also like to try out rallycross and I’m assuming a winter tire would be better in dirt then a summer tire. Any advice from Oppo?
So I got a new job where my pay increased by about ~50%, but my round-trip distance to work went from 36 miles to 66 miles. I really, really hate putting so many miles on my 328i, so I was thinking of getting a fun manual car to both finally own a manual car and also stop putting so many miles on my “good” car.
I am very happy about this. 30-33mpg for my normal commute and 35-37 highway. 35mpg was sitting right at 80mph for the entire tank too.
I spent $3000 on my MX-5, and it’s done almost 400,000 km.
Look at this little man child piloting this tank.
I’m depowering a steering rack for my Miata build. It’s not going well.
I’ve started reassembling the rack on the bench, but it’s way too tight. It feels all bound up and is very difficult to move, and I haven’t even fitted the preload device yet which is for adjusting the drag on the rack.
World-weariness is cheap these days. The same old thing endlessly repeated; a copy of a copy of a copy. How many movie sequels and remakes have come out in the past few years?
Marty and Moog ran an MCM meet & track day down at Mallala Motor Sport Park, and it was obviously totally fucking awesome. I’d estimate between 500-1000 cars showed up.
I had by far the shabbiest MX-5 at the event (#771), but as they say, builds don’t happen overnight.
The atmosphere was awesome and there was loads of…
Then took it to the tail of the dragon and drove it home 1000 miles on the second day of having a manual.
I’ve only bought old cars, so I took them to shop close buy to get inspected. Do you do anything before buying a car that comes with extra warranty and passed an “uncompromising 160-point inspection” ???
*Just add tax, tag, title, and $799 dealer document processing fee.
Similar to these but in gold. Nothing fancy, but I needed some 15"s so I could put decent track rubber on my MX-5.
Debating Miatas still and I just really don’t like the idea of owning a black/gray car. Let alone paying $20k+ for the privilege.
So, in Australia, it gets hot. Particularly in summer.
My Daihatsu Feroza had completely lunched its engine, with the valves smacking the pistons in an all-out brawl of mechanical disaster.
I was 26 and despite being a massive car enthusiast, I’d never owned a sports car. Not even for a minute. It was time to rectify…
Some of these look stunning. Hopes for the NE or a facelifted ND.
At the time that clip came on TV, I didn’t care too much. Now that I appreciate a clean NA mx-5, it hurts.
Rebuilt 2016 Club Miata with 3,000 miles. Listed for $18k, about 3k less than any other manual.
My MX-5 (pronounced MEE-AH-TAH) was running like crap. Plus, I needed an excuse for my terrible laptimes down at the track. I didn’t really think anything was wrong, I just assumed the car was old since it’d done almost 400,000 km. After all, there was no check engine light lit up on the dash or anything.
Note: Author is in Australia, where prices for everything are wildly different and we call Miatas MX-5s.
Back at it again with the car shopping, which would oppo buy?
