I really need an E30.
Just a handful of my favorite shots from the hillclimb. These were all taken on a crappy 18-55mm lens, so don’t expect anything too special. We were spectating at Cove Creek, at about 12,000 feet above sea level, *just* below the tree line.
And it was glorious. Somehow Hot Rod Magazine’s Viper crew ended up outside our shop with the Viper ACR they are taking up Pikes Peak.
From this video, if anyone’s curious.
Thanks to all the responses, we have a good list of tracks that Opponauts want copies of for their very own. Most are fairly obvious, others less so.
These days, it seems that F1 is raced exclusively by genetically engineered, corporately sponsored, superhumans. Look at Lewis Hamilton and tell me he wasn’t designed in a lab in some sub-basement of McLaren. All of the top tier boys got a Nomex onesie before they could walk, and their stroller had a HANS device. The…
Hey all! I realize I haven’t been active lately, but what’s a better way to come back than with a photo-dump from Pikes Peak this year? Some of the pictures and videos are blurry because they were taken with my phone and its camera has been acting weird the past few weeks. I watched from Cove Creek for those…
I watched this gem this morning.
This is a new feature we are running at Carwitter, we have amassed a ton of - what we think - are superb images since we started the site...nearly 10,000 already!
It's America's second oldest race and the fans turn out for it. Pikes Peak is a big draw. Here are some of the sights of downtown Colorado Springs.
When you reach 14,400 feet in altitude there isn't much air to breathe. It stands to reason EVs would do very well racing up America's Mountain. This year is no exception.
I had grand plans to rent a motorcycle today and make a run at Pike's Peak. Unfortunately, mother nature did not cooperate with that plan. Instead, I headed for high ground in a Sonata Hybrid (entertaining, but probably not Oppo Review worthy).
Hollywood is coming to Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak this week. Hollywood is getting ready to give you your next fix of Fast'N'Furious. Installment 7 of the franchise will see the Pikes Peak Highway and the North Slope Recreation Area closed to all visitors on September 5th and 10th according to the City of Colorado…
In the history of Subaru models, none is more revered than the 22B. Built in 1998 to celebrate Subaru’s third WRC title, less than 500 wide-body specimens were ever manufactured. This makes a true 22B sighting here in The States about as rare as a Unicorn.
As we all know, Monseiur Loeb took his Peugeot up the mountain in just 8:13.878, averaging over 87 mph, beating Rhys Millen's record by 90 seconds.
Special place in my heart because I worked on getting some of these ready...some way more than others
Finally! Er, thanks Red Bull Media House!
