In a world where Teslas can crash themselves without any human help, a world where Apple and Google are both getting into the car market, Red Barchetta, Rush’s classic hit based on the short story A Nice Drive, is more relevant than ever. The song perfectly encapsulates what it means to drive, beginning with sedate…
Dreamline for your commute.
I just found these two articles on Neil Peart’s website. For those of you not familiar, Peart is the world’s greatest drummer in the world’s greatest band, Rush (not opinion, it’s fact). It turns out that he has raced in a handful of the recent 24 Hours of Lemons events (!) under the pseudonym “Bamm Bamm Rubble”, and…
Where one grudge match ended, another one started. If the latter part of the 20th century's racing history had to be condensed into one race and one movie, this should be it. Equal cars, equal chances of winning, 17 (!) shared (future or past) F1 World Championship titles and much more. The 1984 Nürburgring…
Finally saw it. Not a fantastic movie in my opinion but it was a very interesting story, topped off with utter 70's porn and all-around beauty (cars, colors, people).
What did she say? Oh my car is fine, I just had it worked on and it was very expensive?
Most racing movies have the particular ability to be unwatchable compared to any other move, but some stick out. The easiest way to see if a racing movie strikes the chord of being a good movie in general is to see if your non-enthusiast friends like it.
Feeling pretty Oppo!
This was posted earlier today. I don't care, the evening crowd needs to see it.
I wanted to see it so badly. Finally, a local Redbox had it in Blu-Ray so I rented it. My review is below.
This is too much. Don't even click on this.
I know it was predictable that it wouldn't get noms, but I still had some hope it'd get a bit of recognition. What are your thoughts on this?
...is what I would be screaming inside the Dolby Theater on March 2nd if I were Ron Howard. Rush was snubbed by the panel of doddering animated corpses at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences this morning. Not a single nomination, not even for the technical awards, which is ludicrous because the…
And it hurts my head...
Damn this movie is amazing... Better than the first time
Great movie!! I guess it's fitting I went to Griot's Garage on Saturday for their Caffeine & Gasoline monthly meetup and snapped this pic (as well as going to last months where they actually fired this & Mass' cars up).
No regrets. Not even one. Have a real photo of Hunt in '75.
Fantastic underwater boobage.
For those who have heard it, "Red Barchetta", off Rush's 1981 album Moving Pictures, is probably one of the best and most iconic songs about driving and being a motoring enthusiast. The song is about a young man living in a dystopian future where cars have been outlawed. The young protagonist narrates a story of…
