Sort of. I'll have a pulmonary valve installed tomorrow! I'll let you all know if I have any horsepower gains!
I was born with Tetralogy of Fallot. There was a hole between two of my heart's chambers, and the pulmonary valve was underdeveloped and too narrow for adequate blood flow. I had open heart surgery when I was 10 weeks old to patch up the hole and widen the pulmonary vein, removing the pulmonary valve in the process. Without it, my ventricle has become enlarged by the back flow of blood after each heartbeat. Now that I'm fully grown, I can finally have a second surgery to get a functioning valve installed.
So with a few weeks of bedrest ahead of me, here's looking forward to binge watching Breaking Bad and playing CAH on Oppo.
