Just got a quickie quote from the machine shop. $1,000 just to get the short block done.

That obviously seems high. There aren’t alot of quality places to go in pittsburgh because it isn’t really a car town. There aren’t any vintage junkyards, no engine specialists, nothing.

Nobody I can rely on for help has done a rebuild this far. I lack most of the tools. Failure on this project would mean I wouldn’t drive it for the next couple of years.

Overall, it just seems to make more sense to scrap the damn thing and drop a nice pontiac motor, at the tune of 6,000 I don’t have.
