You take someone out to lunch in your stick shift car and they ask "What kind of transmission is this? Is this a stick?". I wanted to tell her "it's not a stick, there is actually a unicorn in the car. You move the horn to change gears and the unicorn kicks its legs to actuate the transaxle's gear change.". But I was nice and answered without sarcasm and offered to teach her how to drive a manual transmission. It wasn't her fault that sticks are so rare these days that she probably hasn't seen one in over a decade so it was hard to remember what they look like.
