About 10 years ago I played the epic Richard Burns Rally rallysim for countless hours. (And Rally Championship 2000 before that, though that one could not be called a rallysim.)

I downloaded DiRT Rally from Steam yesterday and hooked up the ol’ Logitech MOMO force feedback wheel and pedals to the PC for the first time in years.

I am happy to report that I still speak Pacenotes! Within minutes I was able to go full attack. In car camera is still the only real cam for games like this, I still prefer left foot braking to initiate oversteer over weight transfer/Scandinavian flicking, I still work up a sweat and I still get this lurid shit-eating grin when hauling Rally ass.

Oh, and I have some sore muscles in my upper arms.
