If your Ford had a Matthew McConaughey, it would be a Lincoln

1950's Lincoln-Mercury Dealer

Passed by this building today - up until recently, it had been an HVAC & plumbing supply warehouse, and I had no idea it was an old Lincoln-Mercury showroom (although there is a Ford dealer across the street). The property’s being renovated, and the corrugated metal siding was taken off to expose this 1950's paint scheme. These are terrible photos, since I had to take them with a cell phone while stopped at a red light.

I believe this would date to the brief period in the mid 1950s when Continental was its own brand for two model years, with Comet added in the late ‘50s/early ‘60s - after Edsel was discontinued, but before Comet was a full fledged Mercury model. It may actually be painted over an Edsel script.
