2019-10-19 Driving the Thousand Islands Parkway

On Saturday, I drove on the Thousand Islands Parkway. I first saw the signage when I was on my way from Montreal, driving into Kingston for the first time in my own car. So, it had been one of the things I wanted to do. Yesterday I made it happen, and here are some of the photos.

First, I arrived at Gananoque, where the Parkway starts:

Next, I stopped at the Thousand Islands National Park Visitor Centre, which is about half way down the length of the Parkway:

Finally, I wanted to see the Thousand Islands Bridge. Unfortunately, driving on it was out of the question, as it is a tolled bridge and it also leads pretty much directly to the Alexandria Bay, New York Port of Entry. So, I ended up traipsing through a closed camp ground in order to catch a glimpse:
