Treat your torque wrench right, and you won’t screw yourself over. I needed to torque two banjo bols for the oil cooler lines for the turbo to the oil filter bracket at 41ft-lbs. One is above 41 and not broken, the other one is above.


I never knew how to maintain a torque wrench until it was too late and this accounts for the many times I’ve sheared heads off bolts and such. I never set it back to 0 after I was done using it. Unfortunately, Porsche doesn’t stock this anymore. FORTUNATELY, Bel-Metric does, at around $16 a bolt. Factor in $23 for a new and calibrated torque wrench and you’ve got my lesson of the day. I’m gonna treat this new wrench like a god.
