From a Hyundai Veloster to a Lamborghini Murcielago, the “warm-up” Dustball Rally traversed 25 unique vehicles from El Paso to Las Vegas....via Utah? This is the world’s most ridiculous rally, taking the road less traveled, leaving participants guessing until they see something that is recognizable (according to rally instructions).
The roads often are desolate and without phone signal and the event isn’t for anyone, but rather those in search of a grueling adventure. One individual, in particular, decide to bring his incredibly rare Porsche 918 Spyder. Yes, you read that correctly — the owner of a $1.5M car decided to take it out of his garage and not only onto the street, but through over 1000 miles of the unknown.
Carefully and completely wrapped with several protective layers of film and graphics, the 918 was put through the paces and was driven “rather spiritedly” as eloquently put by the organizers of the event.
If you haven’t heard about this event, it is generally because it has largely been kept a secret for the past ten years. But you can find out more about it here: www.dustballrally.com and see a teaser clip from the 918’s adventure here:
