If your Ford had a Matthew McConaughey, it would be a Lincoln

A sad day for New Zealand motorsports

The Bruce Mclaren Trust has sold Mclaren's last winning ride, the only M8A-2 in existence, to an offshore buyer.

Apparently they overstretched themselves restoring it from the rotting hulk it was found as, can no longer afford to run it, and couldn't find a "no strings" local buyer.

Big ups to them for making the decision that they'd rather see it on a track overseas than languishing in a museum in NZ, but Jeez, it's sad to know we'll never see it here again.

Here it is in action at Hampton Downs (skip to 1:15 for actual car).
