This is my Cougar. Thus far, it hasn’t been a project. It’s been a drive it as you bought it car. Other than replacing the cracked gas tank and the previously installed hideous wheel/tire combo. I’ve done some maintenance, but no major work has been done. That will change this winter.
Bodywork isn’t in the winter plans, but here are the areas of the car that usually don’t show up in pics. Both rear quarters are rusted, with a crappy bondo job on the both sides. I usually only take pictures of “the good side”, and minimize the body/rust damage.
The passenger side floor is rusted though as well, and I’ll tackle that over winter. I’d like to get the collision damage fixed on the passenger front, but that opens the body work can o’ worms. Since the car lives inside, and Colorado is rather dry anyway, I don’t see the rust getting any worse.
Right now, I’m just waiting for any potential Black Friday deals before I order my winter stash of parts.
For today, it’s the errand machine. Hockey practice in the afternoon, a beer run, and who knows what else. It’s still unseasonably warm and dry here, so I’m not ready to pack away the beast just yet. I just hosed off the dust, leaned out the mixture a little, and ready to roll.
