So I spent my Sunday running around to a bunch of different car meets and such, but the biggest/best was Atco's Honda Day. Going to post a few pictures and a few fun stories, but please share your pictures as well!
Rode up in this beauty (94 'Teg GS). It's a friend of a friend's, and he let us borrow it for the day. One of the lowest cars I've ever been in. Constantly scraping on everything. Kicked out of gear a few times from impact shocks. I'm surprised it still has that front lip attached, but I know we made that eventual disaster a little closer along the course of the day. Don't let the luster of that blue paint fool you, I had money riding on the car leaving us stranded, or having a major part fall off, at some point during the day. I actually lost that bet. Besides braking my back a few times, the car was fine.
We left West Chester, PA around 6:30 AM. On a Sunday, this may as well be the previous day for us. We arrived at Atco around 8AM. We did get to park inside the main gate, but not extremely close to the main show, either. Apparently you had to get there around 4AM to get "good" parking. At least we weren't in the mud. I'm not sure the Teg could have suffered it.
Parked next to this gem. Yes, it has every badge taped over. I helped him out a little and penned in a H he missed on one rim. Also, the window had a sticker that said "99 Problems, and my VW is all of them". Fantastic!
Saw 3 or 4 of these. Well, at least the platform handles those 26"s well.
Saw no end to the slew of Civics, Preludes, Integras, Accords, and RSXs, and S2Ks that looked like this. Also saw some interesting stereo cars, show cars, etc. 2 NSXes, one stock, one with work done, were also present.
Another small taste of the modified cars. If you want to see them, I'm sure there are millions of pictures by now all over Facebook, so I'm not going to spam these. I also didn't try to take many pictures of the show cars, because again, I'm sure there are a lot better pictures out there than my smartphone snaps.
Went out to the car to grab some drinks, saw these two gems sitting next to eachother. Wonder if they came in together?
Finished the day with a convoy from NJ back to WC, and then finished it off with a few local meets, which I brought the Forte out for. Just had this pic sent to me not that long ago (It's my own car), so I figured I'd share, even though it's over-exposed.
Like I said, there are tons of better pictures of the whole show than my own, these are just a few personal ones I thought were interesting. Also, I am not a die-hard Honda guy myself, but that being said, I can appreciate the culture. If you don't like the culture, please don't be a hater. Many of these guys do put thoughts and effort into their builds and the results are special, at least to them. Hondas (and 90s imports) just get extra hate because the number of crazy, distasteful mods that bypass logic and style is also apparent. I also didn't take any pictures/video of the drag racing, but if you want to see Sub-9s EG hatches and the like, I direct you to www.youtube.com or www.hondaday.com.
I leave you with a pic of a Del Sol with a Supra front end!
