Have you wanted to get your hands on a modern Toyota Hilux, but annoyed that Toyota won't sell you one, unlike the lucky folks down south in Mexico?
Well, this could* be your chance!
(*Depending on if your local government will let you register such a vehicle)
Someone in Virginia is selling a 2012 Toyota Hilux that Oppos would surely love.
5-speed manual transmission, 4 door cab, Part time 4WD, 2.5l Turbodiesel engine, steel wheels, tough aftermarket bumper with winch, CD player.
The truck was shipped to the US on a waiver and used for the filming of National Guard training films.
The truck is practically brand new, with very low mileage, and still has the plastic cover on the driver's seat.
So, why am I saying all this and only directing it to Canadian Oppos? Because the vehicle MUST be exported, due to legal circumstances, the truck can't stay in the US, even as an offroad only vehicle.
The seller says that from their end, they can ship it to Canada, but I wouldn't even consider making a bid without consulting your local Department of Motor Vehicles, or whatever it's called up in Canada.
I've heard of cases of relatively new vehicles getting exceptions to be imported to Canada, but they seem to be really rare, but this truck's short time with US military might be enough to get them to allow it.
Still, check first before even making a bid, if you want this truck.
