UPDATE: In addition to below, the dealer also said that the car needs new brake pads all around. And only 1 millimeter (0.04 inches) thickness is left on the pads.

(I’m asking him if the instrument cluster shows the brake pad warning light. I’m not sure if this model has one).

Can you give me a ballpark on how much the parts and labor would cost at the dealer?

So my dad has a Q5 that recently went in for a dealer service.

This one was not free and not cheap.

Unfortunately, he lives in a small city in India, where the independent mechanics aren’t known to work on luxury cars. So he has no choice but to go to the dealership. He sent me the service quote to see if he got ripped off.

What do you guys think? Isn’t it odd to charge/account for time to check every single thing? For your reference, approx 700 Rupees is $10.
