The clock inside of Maseratis is shaped like the Maserati emblem. That’s right, it’s not just some random oval! This particular oval shape is a throwback to the oldest incarnation of the Maserati oval. The emblem has been relatively unchanged for over 100 years. The most obvious changes have been the subtle rounding out of the original oval since the shape was, erm...“suggestive.” That Italian seduction used to be more Basic Instinct when we all know The Graduate got the job done just fine.
Now with all that said, you now understand the joke when I refer to the current clock as the “Oyster’s Pearl.”
