I'm going to tell (some of) the story of this past summer when I had the opportunity to attend my friend's wedding in Seville, Spain.

Southern Spain in June is not exactly the best place to go if you're trying to keep cool. For the wedding I was in a suit (duh) and it was 104 degrees out, there was no shade and I had to stand for the duration of the ceremony and after (more than) a little 'tinto de verano' I was feeling a tad dehydrated. Luckily the ceremony ended before I passed the fuck out.

After the ceremony we began to feast upon a wide array tapas and drink lots of the local beer. The waiters would come around and have you chug yours just so they could hand you another one. And once we were all boozed up the dancing began. We must've danced for 10 hours before people realized that they were tired, it was awesome.

Now comes the fun part. In my drunken state thought about my plane and how it was coming early the next morning and then I realized that I didn't have a ride to the airport. I spent a couple hours trying to secure a ride utilizing all of the Spanish I could remember from high school.

I finally secure a ride with Javier and his girlfriend Sonia (lol) and on the way back I realized I didn't have my keys for my place back in Germany so we had to stop at Juan's place to get them. Juan was passed out and wouldn't answer his door, I had to climb his lime tree in my suit and I, for 20 minutes, continuously picked limes and threw them at his window until he woke up, I got my stuff and we left finally.

It was about an hour until my plane was supposed to leave and Sonia was driving to the train station to drop me off and Javier and I were shooting the shit in the back seat when he said something about her being the best in bed, me not thinking said "been there, done that", he didn't take it well and threatened to kick my ass right there. I had to get out of the car and walk the rest of the way to the train station and navigate my way to the airport.

All in all it was probably one of the best trips I've ever taken.

Lesson: Go to Spain and drink and climb lime trees.
