I got a recall notice in the mail a couple weeks ago. The Forester was recalled again for the same brake line corrosion issue, due to incomplete repair instructions from the previous recall. I was going in for service anyway, so I had the recall added to the list of things to do. As it turns out, I failed the leak test this time around, so I ended up with new brake lines.
While I was there, I decided to check out the lot like I always do.
My local dealer occasionally has some interesting used, non-Subaru, vehicles. This time, I found a 2003 350Z. This one was a base coupe in Silverstone, with the 6-speed manual. Only 53,000 miles for $13,989. I always sort of liked these, and used to have a poster of one in my room when I was younger. I wish this one was Le Mans Sunset or Daytona Blue, however.
Hiding in the back lot was this first generation (SF) Forester with a 5-speed. It appeared to have just been traded in. I seem to recall it had ~130,000 miles and they wanted ~$7,000 for it.
I also found this 2010 Forester 2.5XT Limited. This might have been my favorite on the lot. It's just like mine, except it's a year newer, has 19,000 fewer miles, and has a turbo. It's just a 5-speed (or 6-speed) away from being perfect.
