Carnage!

I got the CVT cover off today. Total carnage inside. The belt (what’s left of it anyways) is wrapped tightly around the variator. This explains why the engine wouldn’t turn over, when I initially didn’t know what the hell had happened.

I ordered parts last night. Apparently Zuma 125s are somewhat notorious for snapping belts, so I ordered a Polini kevlar belt. Since I was going to be digging in, I splurged on a Molossi variator kit, clutch, and clutch bell. These should give me both better acceleration and too speed. I figured I ride it so much, it will be worth spending some extra shekels on it.

Quick update: took the variator off. Here’s what’s left of the belt.
