Well that didn't take long, the Charger SRT8 finally gets some home brewed competition and adjusts accordingly. Dropping over $2,000 to become actually cheaper than the SS's MRSP of $44,470. All while retaining its 50 hp advantage.

The Chevy SS might weigh a bit less but according to the SS's own site it will do the 0-60 run in 5 seconds & according to Motor Trend's test the Charger did the same run in 4.3 seconds.

To be fair though when Motor Trend tested the Pontiac G8 GXP they got it to 60 in 4.5 seconds. That half second it takes the SS to get to 60 might be because it is offered with an automatic only, but who knows until someone tests it.

Probably wouldn't hurt to mention that the Ford Taurus SHO also exists but its down on power & FWD biased. Thats no fun in american performance sedan.
