Chip Foose has done some amazing work, and won huge awards with truly amazing cars.
But is it wrong if I think one of the coolest is not outlandish, not ‘million-dollar-baby’ finished, not radical, but something that looks like it would have sold directly off a Chevy lot for a reasonable price, and would be both a useful and attractive ‘Ute’ to own and drive? One could argue it is subtle, and even a little unassuming.
The Overhaulin’ builders successfully pulled off an amazing cross-generational “El Camaro” by grafting late-60’s Camaro looks, both inside and out, onto an early-80’s G-body El Camino, and having it look absolutely legitimate. Legitimate like GM should have done it that way in the first place.
