Hey all, the wife and I are celebrating 15 years in October and wanted to plan a nice trip — just 4-7 days and preferably domestic for the simplicity and time commitment. Since Frontier flies nonstop from BHM-DEN a few times a week, I thought I’d take advantage of them for the first time (all the fancy stuff...checked bags and everything!).
I haven’t been out there since about 2001 when the old lady and I were first dating (Golden, Ft Collins, RMNP). We’re looking for something peaceful, luxurious, and not too busy — it would be nice to get a few hikes in, but we’re not bagging any fourteeners this time :)
At the moment, I’m drawing a blank — The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park seems nice, but a bit dated and isolated. No TV and no beer makes Ash something something. Any other recommendations within ~2 hours of Denver you might recommend?
We’re also going to spend a couple days in Denver, probably at the end of the trip, so recommendations there are welcome.
Yes, I’m bringing some cash if you know what I mean. But otherwise, we’re both 40 and not looking for crazy nightlife — just good, local culture and restaurants.
Thank in advance!
