I’ve been digging up old car photos from high school yearbooks to post in the Vintage Shots thread over at the Hokey Ass Message Board; usually things like some kids building a hot rod in shop class:

OK. Wholesome Americana, right? Then I found this in the 1963 Hobbs, NM high school annual. Read on:


Who wrote this copy, and how the hell did they get it into the yearbook without getting caught? Probably that weird kid from English Lit who sits in the back writing bad poetry and staring at all the girls... (And yes, I know they’re stroking looking at an F-85, not an 88.)
