While automatic transmissions may be the inferior choice in most applications, that doesn't make them bad, or say anything about a person that has one, other than the specific vehicle that they are referring to or driving, doesn't have a clutch pedal. AT's are valuable tech which specifically helped move American (and global) car culture forward. Without them we would live in a very different world.

Also, remember that there are many, many people who, for a variety of legitimate reasons, cannot drive a manual.

As a personal choice, if I can help it, I won't ever buy another AT for my personal vehicle for the rest of my life, but with the exception of my brother (he's my younger brother, and therefore this is my responsibility) and my children (see rationale for younger brother, apply it to offspring), I will not judge anyone else for their transmission choice.
