I know I am a little late to the party, but I finally got to see the Top Gear UK episode where they drive the Aston, LFA, and the Viper. Now, the Viper is a car I always respected for its badassness (I know that's not a word) but it was one of those cars that, if I had the money, I didn't really have a desire to own.
That episode of Top Gear may have changed my mind. First, I would like to say that still pics do not do the new Viper justice, when I saw it in action I finally got a true perspective of its style. My wife, who is not a gear-head but does enjoy the antics of Top Gear UK, even preffered the look of theViper to the LFA, and the Aston. And she is usually partial to European hardware. She especially liked the snake graphic on the tach, because it reminded her of the Thunder Cats logo. Hey, you can take kid out of the 80's, but you can't take the 80's out of the kid.
So the Viper is now on my fantasy bucket list of cars to own. Or is it that Top Gear UK is really good at making cars desireable? I wasn't to keen on the Huarya when it first came out, but after seeing it round the test-track I was totally blown away. I can't wait to see what the boys will do with the Mclaren P1!
So thanks Richard Hammond, for making my automotive fantasies even more complicated. I think I would like mine in black with grey stripes :)
