I was given a bass guitar for Christmas by a particularly generous co-worker. It's a 1987 Charvel / Jackson through-neck. I picked up the amp on sale, and I've been having a ton of fun with it. I've played keyboards for over 20 years, so I'm quite familiar with music theory, reading music, etc., it's just the skill set of playing a guitar-like instrument that I'm needing to pick up.
In the picture I have Rotosound 66 strings on it, but they tore my fingers up something fierce, so I swapped them out for some nickel D'Addarios.
I picked up Rocksmith 2014 and have been enjoying it's take on "real instrument Guitar Hero" gameplay. It's fun but I'm not entirely convinced that it's teaching me anything more than the mechanics of certain songs.
Uh, to try to make it car-related, uh... it's a good thing I have a wagon so that I can easily schlep the bass and amp around!
