Long story short, my sister is buying a new car in the near future.
She's decided on the Volvo XC60 over the Lincoln MKC and Mazda CX-5. The problem is that all the used T6s in the area are priced too high to be worth buying used, but the new T6s are out of her budget. I stumbled across a new 2015.5 T5 AWD at our local Volvo dealer that is discounted to be in her price range and has the features she wants.
My question is whether the XC60 feels under powered with the T5. We drove one with the 3.2 inline six (the former base engine) when the XC60 first came out, but it felt under powered. We drove the T6 (300 hp) last week and that felt great. The T5 AWD ("new" engine for 2015.5) uses the same 2.5 turbo inline five that Volvo has been using for years. In fact, my C30 has the same engine, albeit with 227 hp compared to 250 hp in the XC60. However, the XC60 is about 1000 lbs heavier than the C30 with only 23 more hp. All the reviews of the 2015.5 XC60 I've found have been with the T6 or Drive-E engines, none with the T5 AWD, so I haven't heard how it feels to drive.
Thanks in advance.
