After a year and a half, my cheap bargain Samsung smartphone crapped out. It seems like the power button or the input control's broken. (Screen turning off and on, the phone stuck in boot loop, the selection in recovery mode moving up and down by itself...)
I would like to take a stab at fixing it, but it might take a bit of tinkering, and I need a working phone right now.
I might get a $130 Nokia Lumia 521. Despite touting the wonders of Android OS whenever I can, I've always been curious about the Windows phone, and I do enjoy learning new gadgets. And at $130, I can keep it as an emergency phone even if I end up getting another Android phone. And the Lumia just looks fantastic.
