Wow, what a whirlwind year we had. In the spirit of 505Turbeaux's post, I've clicked through the entire year of posts I've made and picked out five of my own favorites. So, without further ado:

1. That time my old Mini Cooper nearly got totaled by a plow.

What a wonderful way to start 2014... with a city plow jack-knifed across my street and my former daily driver taking the brunt of the impact that caused said jack-knife to occur. Months of bickering with the city over their insurance ensued, but 3 months later, the Mini returned as if nothing had happened. We sold it last month because it's too damn small for a man of my carriage and my wife wanted her Jetta back.

2. That time my mom trolled me on Facebook.

I had posted a nice retrospective about the 49th anniversary of the Saab 99's development starting. Mom's comment was priceless.

3. That time I had to sprint across midtown Manhattan for a receipt.

Ah, the traveling lifestyle... how I miss it. This was back at the height of my travel season at work when a caterer forgot to provide a receipt for the food at a lunch-and-learn I hosted. I had precious few minutes to catch the Acela back to Boston, but I knew if I didn't grab that receipt <clarkson> I'D BE DOOMED! </clarkson>

Top tip: if you're going to read this post, scroll to the bottom of it and start the video... the song sets the stage for a frenzied Manhattan adventure!

4. That time I had an impromptu 14th High School Reunion at the local Chevy dealership.

In a moment of weakness, we almost traded in that heap of shit Mini for a Chevy Silverado. Hilarity ensued as I ran into a character from my past.

5. That time I ran a 5k for the first time since I was 11.

2014 was the year I overcame my disdain of running. After my Manhattan sprint for a sushi receipt, I realized that a fat man CAN into running! In 2015, I plan on running more and being less fat.

Happy new year, errbody! Looking forward to the adventures we share virtually here on Oppo or even in real life wherever my travels take me.
