It's a Hymer Tramp that I spotted at Walmart in Kamloops, B.C., and yes, those are real, active German licence plates. Someone is on a really long, far getaway. If you've paid close attention to the licence plates in Mercedes-Benz and Porsche press photos, you might know that the "S" stands for Stuttgart.

I had no idea what the chassis was based on, but I figured it looked French. Sure enough, I found some Citroëns and Peugeots that look identical. It turns out that it's not a PSA design at all. Both are based on the Fiat Ducato, which will soon be sold in the U.S. & Canada as the Ram ProMaster. Hmm, I think I prefer the Sprinter.
