Aus is not in full lock down yet, although I wish we were. Took a moment this weekend to clear my head and go for a blast. Car is just too damn fast to enjoy on backroads for me now. But on the other hand the boost and torque is hard to let go of. Friend brought a drone so pics were taken
Covid hitting pretty hard at work too. Stopped all non urgent elective surgery and only doing cancers + emergencies. Had to change management on a few oesophageal cancer patients so it feels surreal. My plastics and orthopaedics colleagues also talking about taking non-Operative approaches for fractures and fixing the defects later. The non-covid toll is huge, there isn't much evidence base behind it, and we seem to making decisions based on war experience
This was my second last year of surgical residency but word is we will be doing another 12 months. Training will be disrupted for a lot of people.
Blessed that we are still paid but everyday feels like going into a war one at the hospital
Wishing all you guys the best, stay safe, take it seriously. Always happy to help with questions
