I've told you about the shrinking number of manual transmissions, of V8, and naturally aspirated engines but how does that compare to the total number of performance cars? Before you is a list of every (of what I consider) performance car available today in the United States.

For the purposes of this list I'm not including any SUV/CUVs or any big luxury cars (ex. S class AMGs). Also missing are any small or specialty vehicles, if you can't find it on a car buying website it's not on here (ex. Morgans, Polstars). There's a lot of upcoming cars that I want to put on there that aren't out yet (Cayman GT4, manual F types, new CTS-V). Yes these are base prices and to get any options that you actually want you'll pay more, but in theory you can buy these cars for these prices.

Perhaps the cars of most interest around here are the "cheap" performance cars. In the $20-30k bracket there an interesting mix of hot hatches, sports compacts, and low end pony cars. Things to note: the Buick Verano isn't really a performance car but I thought it was interesting to include, Mitsubishi still sells the Ralliart (and for $30k!).

Forty thousand dollar performance cars are exclusively German compacts and American muscle sedans. On a side note I don't really consider regular 3 Series-type cars "performance" cars, but thought some would missed them if I omitted them (particularly the Volvo).

In the fifties we start to see a cool mix of sports cars and high end muscle cars. For most of these I've just listed the hard top version (and ignored convertibles), but I've listed the Boxster separate from the Cayman for the power differences.
