My wife and I are making plans for our annual Summer Family Tour. We’ve been east, west, and Midwest, but this time, we thought we’d try the Great Plains, somewhere we’ve never been. We thought we might make Mt. Rushmore our destination. But then we thought it might be fun to find a Very Dark Place, somewhere in the US where there is minimal light pollution, somewhere my boys might still be able to see the Milky Way. Considering that we are starting in Austin, does anybody have any suggestions? Or any suggestions of what to see/do in that part of the country? Here’s one possible route:
