My dual mass flywheel appears to have finally given up the ghost.

Loaded up the VW T4 Transporter this morning to go and do some trackwork at the local MTB park. Took off down the road and the gearbox is making all sorts of springy, rough noises and shuddering. Changes gear, syncros fine and engages ok but wobbly rough. With the clutch disengaged, noises cease.

This is somewhat inconvenient but after 270,000 kilometres and some recent noises it is a bit hard to grumble about. It is the original DMF and clutch after all.

Hope I can get it into town in the morning for the mechanic to deal with!

Question is...do I get another DMF or do I go with a single mass flywheel conversion as part of the replacement clutch kit?
