Remember the warranty-preserving Ford Performance tune for the Ecoboost Mustang? A few owners of this tune had noticed a slight torque dip around 4000 rpm. I noticed it as well, but it didn’t happen all the time so I didn’t really think much of it.
Someone noticed it enough to call Ford, so Ford went out with their test car and tweaked the parameters to fix the dip. Thanks to a friendly owner I found out on Facebook that there was a new update available and I fired up my laptop and got to flashing.
Did they fix the dip? Yep! Pulls smoothly through the whole band now. But I think they added a little more oomph along the way: the car feels noticeably faster, especially down low. Boost comes on a bit quicker and harder than before. Once it hits 3200 RPM it takes off like a freaking rocket. This car is properly fast.
