Welcome to Generation Gap where we ask you about your favorite generation of a certain multi-generational car nameplate. Then, explain why your choice is right to the rest of us uneducated folks.

Just like last time, this time we have a Generation Gap which will take two weeks to cover. Since it’s time for Japan again, let’s do something special. This storied nameplate has existed since 1966 and is the best selling car the world over. Yes, it’s the humble Corolla. Today we take a look at the first five models, cars that were all available with RWD in some form or another (usually as coupes towards the 80's). Which is your favorite of this quintet? (Note: We focus on the sedans here. The coupe/liftbacks will be highlighted later, likely under the Sprinter nameplate.)

The options:

First Generation [1966 - 1970] E10
