Gimme tips for finding an apartment/room to rent.

Hey guys, more nagging from the Croatian kid in the US. It looks like I’m gonna make this a regular series.

Anyway, I’m coming to work in Sunnyvale (California, Bay Area) with a friend, starting from June. I found a job at a restaurant.

Now we have to find accommodations. We’re looking to rent either a full apartment, a room with 2 beds or everything in-between for at least a month. We’re looking for something as cheap as possible.

Looking at the prices on Craigslist, AirBnB and Hotel websites, it looks like we’re gonna have to fork over around 1000 bucks a month.
(Did you notice my cool US lingo? I’m gonna blend in so well Trump won’t even notice me.)

My question is, is there a better solution or a place to look for renting a room/apartment? Craigslist really seems sketchy sometimes and I don’t trust the hotel websites, they each give different prices and I have no idea where else to look...
