One of these horses is not like the other.
Since we are doing 2017 in pictures, herd are my favorites that I took in last year. Some are good photos. Others aren’t but I liked them anyway. Lots of cars, a handful of planes, a few bicycles, and some other stuff. And of course doggos. Yes, I captioned all of these.

We get pretty intense sunrises around here in January. My 20 year old Trek still rocking the original American flag decal. Unregistered work jeep on a ranch northwest of Austin. Impromptu race in my office. I smell Chick-fil-A! Taken in the drive through. First blooms on the mountain laurels in late February. This is what happens when my wife is gone for the day. Early march blossoms with some idiot’s white car in the background. Walk around the block in March. The house on the left has two garages one is dedicated entirely to a first-generation Chevy C10. Canon and Virgin. Quite the juxtaposition. What are you doing in the USA? Clean car in front of a blooming rose bush. Hellcat in its natural habitat. Irony is the pump being out of service. Neither of my cars have sun roof so while my Forester was getting it’s engine replacement I played with the one in the loaner Outback 3.6R Touring quite a bit. This Series.Yellow is the sex. Only 500 of these were made and somehow this dealer had 2 of them. Gotta buckle up the fragile cargo. Snapped right as the light turned green. I think we all know what happened next. Prickly pears in bloom brightened up the ride. Driveway spider is a fan of boxer engines and all-wheel drive apparently. Serenity found on a private campground that I was invited to by a friend who’s church had rented the place out and had extra room. What did you say? No, you can’t have the couch back. This car was made for roads like this. I don’t care if it didn’t have a V8 - having this for a few days was tons of fun. I fell half a mile before this and busted my face pretty bad, but managed to make it to end of the ride. Dude driving an old Packard on Highway 151 like it was a totally normal thing to do. Just liked the clouds in this photo. Not exactly Svend levels of clean, but still looked pretty good in the sun. Headlights. I was messing around a little with my SLR in the garage. Fireworks viewed from a hotel room. Half of this photo was taken in Canada and the other half in the USA. Found this flawless 944 in Bethel Park, PA. PNC Park is my happy place. I wish I had rolled down my window to get rid of the reflections. It was over 100 degrees out when I took this. I only saw one other person dumb enough to be out here in the middle of nowhere. Fortunately, I was able to stay out of trouble. Rallycross on a farm near Austin. I fixed my broken fountain. My driveway faces east, but sometimes the sky still gets neat color at sunset. Carolina anole on my office window. Found an Opponaut’s car. This is Wagonguy’s EcoBoost Mustang. This thing was so damn fast. The mustache and fangs are so stupid. I love them. Doggos went to the liquor store with me. Monster thinks some of it is for him. He is wrong. Thought this might be my last flight on an MD-80. Snapped this out the back window of my mom’s Impreza. Didn’t think much of it until I saw the moon had snuck in. Clownshoe next to a tall building. Riding the trolley. More places need streetcars. Went to another ballgame. If you ever go to PNC make sure to get seats on the 3rd base side and go to a 7PM game so that the sun sets in the middle of the game. Fireworks with downtown Pittsburgh in the background. I was wrong about that other flight - wound up on another MD-80. These new C-Class convertibles are so sexy. And in C63-S trim idiotically fast. Full moon over my Forester. Some hero parked this amazing condition and color Crossfire with the top down in a corner of the lot away from everything else. Perfect lunch: chile relleno outside with a big fat margarita. My buddy put MkIV Supra rims on his SC300. I should play though The Crystal Skull again sometime soon. This is one of top 2 or 3 favorite pictures of the year. I took this with an iPhone 7 and am still amazed I was able to get this close without spooking the butterfly. Little car next to a minivan. Scorpion vs. Gecko vs. Praying Mantis battle royale on the wall of my house. Raindrops on a window. There’s a Jaguar in there somewhere. Playing around with my new MacBook. Now you know where I shitpost from. Rain falling off of my roof. Only half of my house has gutters. Some of my iPhones on my desk. Attack of the giant pumpkins! My friend bought a new Outback. Big laptop, little laptop. This Dell Precision 7720 with a fracking Xeon is a monster. It was a great desktop replacement for a few weeks at a customer site. My boy inspected my carburetor. He said it “looks infected.” Put new tires on my Raleigh. My Forester ate a dragonfly. Yes it’s pretty much glamping. Whatever, the kids liked it. So what if it is a replica and not a real Model A - the skeletons in the back were absolutely hilarious. Oh hello again. Found out it belongs to a coworker. Breakfast tacos for dinner. I don’t like most Wrangler mods, but this CHMSL inside the spare is pretty cool. These C-5's fly over at least once a day and even after living here for nearly a decade I’m still in awe of how huge they are. A new neighborhood started being built across the highway from me, changing my view quite drastically. This was a surprisingly fun rental. It was also very thirsty. Dirty Forester in need of a bath. V-22 Osprey up in the sky. Saw another rental Rogue identical to mine so I had to park next to it. As an aside, the Nissan Rogue is easily the worst car I’ve driven in the last seven years. Hot air balloons over Albuquerque. Does Enterprise even rent anything besides black Rogues? Just liked the sky as I was about to board this 777 at MIA. An i8 stuck in city traffic in Barcelona. Quite an interesting rental car trifecta. Just a 2016+ Audi R8 street parked like it’s no big deal. This rattle can primer MR2 is one my favorite things that I saw on the road all year. Corgi dressed up as a turkey for Thanksgiving! Saw this tank on Thanksgiving afternoon. Excited to go for a hike. Got my tree up on the deck right after Thanksgiving. Dinosaur Park is southwest of Austin in Bastrop, TX. Basically some guy with a bunch of property covered it in dinosaur statues. Well worth the price of entry. This Jurassic Park homage Jeep was a highlight for me. It even had a current registration - I’d love to see it out on the road. First LC that I saw in the wild. Watching the moon come up out of the window of a 737. Fall decided to show up in early December. Flying over the Sandias never gets old. The Corolla has more ground clearance than the Outback. Rare snow hit San Antonio and the Outback finally got to see snow. (This is the one photo here that I didn’t take - my wife snapped this one.) Rental Jetta that I had for a few days. It more fun than expected with the 1.4T. A filthy Prowler. This paint scheme is OEM. It is a limited edition called Black Tie. Putting the roof rack to use for once. Festive Deuce and a Half at a local holiday parade. This AW11 is so perfectly 80's. Quick snap at a gas station. Rental Impala hanging out in my driveway around Christmas. I just liked the way this came out taken through the windshield. Just out for a drive for no good reason, temporarily mismatched wheels and all. Loaner Impreza snuck in right before the end of the year. I really like the way the photos in the boneyard turned out.
