So I have a couple sets of long tube headers. Upon tracking down the gaskets for said headers, there are several posts floating around Mustang sites like The Corral that state Copper RTV is superior to using any sort of gasket. They go on to say that RTV forms a better seal, is easier to apply, and doesn't destroy itself like the regular gaskets do when a bolt backs out.
Does this sound sane? I don't have any idea on usage, but I'm guessing 3 oz would do one side on the Ford 302. Two bottles is about the same price as a gasket.http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-81878…
