So when I tried to leave work at 1:15 PM today, my 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis LS with 85,000 miles made an awful screeching sound once I turned the key. For some context, it had been sitting there since 6 AM, is located in the Florida panhandle, and the car just had the A/C control module ($600 remanufactured part) replaced a month ago.
After hearing the awful noise, which sounded like a slipping belt, I turned the A/C off, turned the car off, and restarted the car. No noise. Drove it for ~30 minutes, turned the A/C on, no noise.
Here's a completely useless picture of it as it currently sits for your viewing pleasure.
