After the Juan Pablo Montoya incident last year, NASCAR decided to make a move to a, well, less explosive track drying system. What they came up with is called TITAN, and here it is in motion.
The system is set to shorten track drying time at a 2.5 mile track like Daytona from 2 hours, 30 minutes to 40 minutes. It will only be used when the red flag is drawn and cars are off the track surface.
For More on the TITAN system (which strangely uses an F150, not a Titan, though I'm sure the LAPD sees it and thinks "Titan!"), read Dave Moody's exclusive first look here.
